Translate excel formulas from Swedish to English
Hi,
My colleague has a Swedish Excel and I have a US Excel. She took my excel file with lots of formulas to make some edits in just the numbers. Excel translated all the formulas to Swedish but when I now try to open the file she saved, I can't as it doesn't recognize some of the formulas. Especially those that have unique Swedish characters. How do I do so I can now open the file again in my excel and we can continue to share the file?
Thank you,
Jonas

Hi,
I have previously written about a new and useful add-in called (https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/office/WA104381504) you can depend on it in this regard.
But it only supports the latest versions of the Excel as follows:- Excel 2013 SP1+
- Excel 2016+
- Excel 2016 for Mac
- Excel Online

Thanks. I was hoping there was a setting or import I could do since the spreadsheet has several thousand formulas of different kinds.
- JamilBronze ContributorExcel stores native formulas in the file regardless of locale language setting. a file saved in Excel with Swedish locale setting, should normally open in Excel with English regional language setting and the functions should not have any issue. sometimes the functions would not convert, if the file is opened in protected mode.
If the issue still persists then your Excel workbook may not have hundreds of different functions used.
so lets say that a Excel function "SEARCH" in Swedish "SÖK" and you still see the Swedish function name instead of the English one, then you can use the FIND&REPLACE to replace the functions back to English. below link gives the list of Swedish and English excel function names.
