Table axis

Hi,

I've created a scatter graph for data in column A and column B.

If I select about 200 points the X axis correctly shows the Column 1 limits, ie zero to two - see top graph.   If I select 2000 points then my X axis shows the values in the 'index' column, ie zero to two-thousand   - see bottom graph.

Why doesn't it still show the limits from column A?

Thanks for your help.

R.

It looks like a bug, the maximum number of data points Excel can display on the second data set without problems on a scatter graph is 1386, more than this and it falls over. The only way to get over it is either to simplify the number of points to less than this or break the graph down in to sections with no more than 1386 points being displayed at a time.

      Hi Richard,

In theory the limit is 255 series and number of points is too far above 2000, don't remember what's that exactly. Such effect as you have could appear if on 1386 or so you have text format instead of number. Have no idea what else could be.
