If this was most any other chart type, I'd put the subcategories on the data labels (value from cells) but Sunburst has limitations.
Here's my workaround. It may not be exactly what you wanted, but it's an option:

I thought it may be the case that it's just not meant for sunburst, however, i'm not sure of an alternative that doesn't eat up loads of time/can be easily adjusted.- JKPieterseAug 09, 2024Silver ContributorTry creating the sunburst chart anew, based on your new data layout. Make sure there is something in each cell of the subcat column, if needed just a space.
