Hi,
I hope somebody can solve my issue on excel formula.
I have 2 tabs : (raw data tab and working data tab)
I need to copy the values in raw data tab into the working data tab. Then I need to sum up the Row A and Row B result as shown in the working data tab. However, I cannot use sum function to get the total result.
Working data tab contents
Nov | |
Row A | 2 (formula to copy value from raw data tab) |
Row B | 3 (formula to copy value from raw data tab) |
Total | sum of row A and Row B values |

I need to copy the values in raw data tab into the working data tab. Then I need to sum up the Row A and Row B result as shown in the working data tab. However, I cannot use sum function to get the total result.
Could you please provide a bit more information? Is it safe to assume, for example, that the sums in rows A and B are working?
You could also clarify what you mean by saying "I cannot use sum function to get the total result." Do you mean SUM doesn't work, or rather that--for some policy or other reason--you're not allowed to use the SUM function? I realize I'm being a nit-picker on words in asking that question, but the statement is open to at least those two interpretations.
Ideally, unless the data you're working with is confidential, post a copy of the workbook with these two tabs on OneDrive or GoogleDrive and paste a link here that grants access to it. If the actual is confidential, then post a facsimile (not an image; still an actual workbook, but one with other data that does show your formulas that do work and the SUM function that for some reason or other isn't working).

Hi Mathetes,
Appreciate and thanks for your prompt feedback.
I had attached the worksheet for your advice on the formula linking from one sheet to another sheet within the same work book.
The " report sheet" is the desired output based on the "raw data sheet" compilation. I am trying not to do the traditional way of creating additional total row in the raw data sheet as in actual situation, there are multiple of different data to be added and reflected the answer to the "report sheet".
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Solution
I'm not sure whether this is what you were looking for. If it's not, please come back with a clearer description of what wasn't and isn't working.
I changed the formulas in the Report tab, in cells B4 and B5 so they now use the SUMIF formula, based on the Level associated with the raw data in the raw data tab.
