Special Paste (Values) not working

Hey guys,

I have an issue with paste special where I cannot paste without formatting.

- this issue only started happening today after using excel for years.

- I have 2 computers on the same office 365 account and the problem does not persist on the other laptop

- I have tried opening excel in safe mode, re-installing, quick repair, rebooting computer... the issue still persists.

- I have already gone to check the following option is selected in the file menu. Go to: File > Options > Advanced.
Under Cut, copy and paste, ensure Show Paste Options button when content is pasted is checked.

What I need is to paste cells without formatting or formulas and currently selecting the paste values only will not work.

The file type is an excel macro enabled workbook. although this issue persists with the standard microsoft excel worksheet.

Any thoughts?

It's uncommon phenomenon,,, normally Paste Special works properly and what you are trying can be accomplished using VALUE option,,,better check Microsoft Team for further assistance.

I'm having a similar issue. When I paste formats,  it doesn't work. zeros appear sometimes and circular reference warning appears.

Help, I copy the excel information and paste special into the word document. When clicking on the image in the Word I receive this message! May I know how can I solve it?

Within the last day, when selecting Paste Options in Outlook and Word, the application locks and does not respond. I have tried repairs to Office 365 and have done 2 uninstalls and reinstalls. I have also contacted Microsoft support who escalated to the next support level. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this problem. Not sure if it was caused with the recent update to Office. Would like to be able to reload the previous version to see if that resolves the issue.

Thomas_Uhl I went to a previous version and restored and it fixed the issue. Was experiencing the same problem. I was concerned it had something to do with the file being housed on SharePoint but either way restoring to the previous version resolved my issue.

I am also haveing the same problem. I moved the excel file to sharepoint a while ago and was wodering if that might be the problem but I am quite sure the Paste Special feature worked ok since then.

The "Paste Special" option may not be available when you copy a row of values in Excel if the cells where you want to paste the values are not compatible with the data type of the copied cells. For example, if you copy a row of values that includes numbers and paste them into a column of cells formatted as text, the "Paste Special" option may not be available. Similarly, if you copy a row of values that includes formulas and try to paste them as values, the "Paste Special" option may not be available.

What i do is = i copy the data that i want to special paste, and i create a new worksheet in the same excel file and i can special paste in that new excel file.
And then i cut that data from the new excel sheet and paste it in the original worksheet.

    Hope this helps.
