Sorting by numbers in Excel column 1
I have a list of 16 numbers in Column 1 of Excel, ranging from 013 through 170. How do I sort the data by each of the numbers, which indicate Districts of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
To sort the numbers in Column 1 of Excel, you can follow these steps:
- Select a single cell anywhere in the range that you want to sort.
- On the Data tab, in the Sort & Filter group, click Sort to display the Sort popup window.
- In the Sort by dropdown list, select the first column on which you want to sort.
- In the Sort On list, choose Values.
- In the Order list, choose Smallest to Largest or Largest to Smallest, depending on how you want to sort the numbers.
