Show value of last cell to the left that has a value
I see. In my formula sorting doesn't matter, that's why we have 2 as first parameter. Some people prefer PI(), in general any one greater than 1. With that it returns last without error value - 2 is never found in sequence of 1:s and ignored errors.
Perhaps e would be more in keeping than π; it is, after all, more closely associated with monotonic growth than oscillation! 🙂
e and π should, of course, be defined by the formulas =EXP(1) and =PI(), just as √2 should be =SQRT(2). They don't have to be defined to take such values but it just seems wrong to do it otherwise.

PeterBartholomew1 , you are mathematician, thus see some philosophy in transcendental constants. On practical site using PI() with LOOKUP() has long history, don't know who and when introduced that. Here on forum Detlef Levin is a big fan of it. Funny link https://support.google.com/docs/thread/18219071?hl=en
