route planning

I'm doing route planning on boats in excel (using simple formulas on fixed routes, speed, vlookup, load,unload) The plan is shared by e-mail, somewhat cumbersome. Are there any tools in excel suitable for this purpose? I also wish to move the route schedule onto a common platform (sharepoint or internet) so that it is visible for all the users. Secondly i want the boatcrew themselves, to update the plan when changes occur, and then notifying all the users involved. Im thinking maybe a gantt chart, a route plan, and a map? Is excel suitable for this?

    One Drive and SharePoint would both be great solutions for you. In SharePoint, users can create alerts letting them know when files have been added, changed, delete,d etc. I would recommend SharePoint for your needs. Additionally, SharePoint has a wonderful versioning system built-in.

    If you have access to OneDrive, you can upload the file to there and then share it. Users can then edit the file on-line, even multiple users at the same time.
