Hello
I use Excel frequently, and I know how to copy and paste cells, including those with formulae. But, as of yesterday, when I do so, even though the copied formula still displays the next row/column (as it is supposed to), the value displayed is that of the original cell.
Eg, if A1 contains Smith and B1 Brown.
If I entered at A2 the formula =A1, I would get Smith displayed in the cell (correctly), but when I copy A2 into B2 I get the formula =A2 but the displayed value is Smith, not Brown.
The same issue occurs on using the fill handle. Or on copying a sheet.
I have never seen this behaviour before. No $ signs added anywhere. In desperation I have explored all the different paste options, but no better. What is going on?!
Thank you, Ruth

hi @Ruth_Broadbent,
What I feel that your Calculation option might be set to Manual, please set it to Automatic & it should work fine.
Goto > Formula > Calculation Options > Automatic
