MS Excel insert map functionality not working for all 50 US states
I'm trying to make a simple map of the US showing the number of members by US state. When MS Excel creates the map using Insert > Maps, it ignores the states of Washington, Idaho, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. I believe that I have formatted the data properly, as other states work fine. I've also done a table with data for just the "trouble" states and they behave the same when they are the only states in the data set. I've even typed the data for these "trouble" states all by hand, formatted them, and then tried the map functionality. I get the same behavior. What can I do to correct this problem? Thank you!

Looks like this is a widespread issue that Microsoft is slow to/failing to address:
