Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action

Hello,

I keep getting a message 'Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action'. Sometime it happens when running macros, sometimes when just copying pasting values across different spreadsheets or just entering value in a cell. Our IT department re-installed office 4 times already (tried 2016 and Office 365) and completely rebuilt the machine, also gave another machine to test but the issue still persists. However the same files work fine on my personal laptop (the same windows version and Office 2016). I have also checked Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) in the settings and disabled all add-ins in Excel.

Can you please help?

Are you using Google Drive as well? Try logging out from the desktop app (File Stream or whatever is the latest name).
