Making a Board Game Standings and Matches Table

Copper Contributor

Hello there,

My friends and I decided to make a small board game tournament amongst ourselves for fun. I decided to make an Excel sheet to help with keeping score and having a table, league standing, point system, and more.

I am stuck since I decided to make various tables with the headers being "Position (this being 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and so on)", "Player", and "Points" that they received on that specific day. We made it so that depending on your standing at the end of the match that day, you will gain a certain amount of points from your position, just like F1.

I then made a separate worksheet that is a copy of the table above that I can use to get data since I will be sorting the first table to update based on current player points.

I am stuck since I do not know how to add the different points based on the placement of every player in every match. I can't attach pictures so if you need them I can email them. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi,

Can't attach pictures means you are facing difficulty in uploading here?
You can upload the file as attachment, or add it to OneDrive and share the link here so that others can help with your query.

Hey there! It's been a while but, making an Excel sheet for your board game tournament is a neat idea! To tally points based on player standings, you can use functions like SUMIF or SUMIFS. These formulas help you sum values based on specific conditions, like player names or positions. If you need more assistance, don't hesitate to reach out!
