Limit number of rows an excel file can have

Copper Contributor

I have a macro file at hand. I save it as workbook after adding values and upload to a company system. This system accepts at most 20000 rows, also I need at most 1000 rows. Right now I can see around 1million rows .

If I delete a row, just a new one appears. I can no way reduce number of rows.

- Please don't offer me to hide rows, since hiding is not getting rid of useless rows they are still there.

- Scroll area resets itself everytime. It is useless as well.

plz let me now if there is a macro code for this

I'm not sure how the company system reads the file, but there is no way (I'm aware of) to reduce the number of rows in a spreadsheet. Typically, a system can read where the data exists to create a table dimension

Hi @sezinozer

These rows are not useable unless you write on them.

So, if you want to use certain number of rows and you want to make sure that your colleagues do the same, you can protect the whole rows and just open the ones you want to limit.
