Limit characters in a column
I have a spread sheet from a client that needs editing for import into a EPOS system.
Can cut and paste all information into the correct import format .csv other than the product descriptions, many of these have too many characters. The limit for import is 25, Is there any way to limit the number of characters when pasted into a new column and/or truncate the descriptions to 25 characters.
Column D in sample needs to be max of 25 characters. There are 18K+ of products to import so a manual adjustment would be too time consuming. The description is what is printed on customers receipt.
Ideas please

Hi John,
To truncate texts in column D to 25 characters
- insert new empty column to the right of column D
- select entire column D
- in ribbon Data->Text to Columns
- on first step select Fixed Width; on second one click on 25 mark in scale
and Finish
- delete the column which you added to the right of D with extra characters in it
