I have a four-page spreadsheet that I want to put an individual Roman numeral to each page

Every time I attempt to enter the Roman numeral "xi" in the "First Page" box when creating a footer, I get an alert indicating that it's an invalid number. I've made numerous attempts to figure out how to make this work.

Here's how I want each of the four Excel footers to appear: xi xii xiii xiv 

I don't want anything more or less than that. I'm not interested in xi of xiv, or 11 of 14, or the file name, my name, or anything else. I just want xi xii xiii xiv
