How to track cell editors?

I have a shared worksheet with multiple editors.

Is there a formula to count the number of cells in a given range that a specific user (User-A) has edited?

If you have 365, your best option may be the 'Show Changes' feature:

I'm looking for an actual numerical tally per line, in a cell to the right of each line's data. Highlights won't help much in large sheets.

I really hope there's a way, because I SOOO want to use this to help justify Excel's capabilities over Google's Sheets!
