how to enable autofill on excel?

I am attempting to enable autofill so when i highlight a group of cells to make that little square on the bottom right corner appear but nothing seems to be working. people are saying to click file than options but i dont have an options section when i click file

• Desktop version for Windows
• Desktop version for Mac
• Excel Online (in the browser)
• Excel app for iPhone/iPad/Android

• On the Excel menu, click Preferences.

• Click Edit.

• Under Edit Options, check the Allow fill handle and cell drag-and-drop box.
