How do I erase formula from a cell in Excel?

Pleas tell me how to erase a date formula from a cell in Excel

"Help" says simply select the cell and 

excel

    Go to the cell where the formula is that you want to remove with the mouse.

    Press the “Delete” or “Del” keyboard key, depending on the PC,

    and the formula and its content will disappear.
