How do I change the X axis values for an Area Chart?
You should not modify the source data at all - leave them as they are now.
The date values should be entered in the Minimum and Maximum boxes of the Axis Options tab of the Format Axis task pane, as shown in the screenshot in my first reply.
I am using Office 365, Excel (Version 2409 Build 16.0.18025.20030) 64-bit
Could you attach a small sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar? Alternatively, you can attach it to a private message to me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Just like you, I couldn't get it to work. I had to create the chart from scratch.
I then ran into a new problem: a date axis only displays integer values (whole numbers).
So I removed the x-values 0.5, 1.5 etc.
That may be a deal-breaker for you, but I do not know of another way to do this.
