Highlight first blank cell in each row

Copper Contributor

Please help with conditional formatting.

I want to highlight only the first blank cell in each row. C2-DL but the last row number will change in each sheet.

Thank you.

Assuming that you want to start in row 2, select the entire rows 2 to 1000, or however far down you want.

The active cell in the selection should be A2.

On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Conditional Formatting > New Rule...
Select 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format'.
Enter the formula

=COLUMN(A2)=MIN(IF(2:2="",COLUMN(2:2)))

Click Format...
Activate the Fill tab.
Select a highlight color.
Click OK, then click OK again.

You are a savior! Thank you soooo much!
