golf scorecard

i am trying to get a formula to score a golf scorecard where you put in the score for each hole and the program sorts out the score say if a par 4 is played as par and index is 4 and the handicap is ...

    dawesy You need to incorporate the "strokes received" formula into the overall points calculation. To calculate all in one formula is possible but the formula becomes quite complex. Better to add a row for each player where the points per hole are calculated and then added up in the end. You can alway hide these extra rows if you want.

Hi there again after what you did for me with the handicap formula which is working great thank you again, i was wondering if it possible to highlite the highest number in a column say points or par score

dawesy When you say "the highest number in a column", do you mean best result. I.e. highest points or lowest score.

Exactly which cells should be highlighted? Can you give an example of a sheet you would want to do this on? If you haven't already done so, look into Conditional Formatting.

    Hi Riny sorry about the mess i sent hopefully this is better have attached a file of a scorecard if you can see this i have tried to highlite the highest and lowest scores i the following columns ( W which is total score to par ) and ( X which is total  points ) hope i explained i ok his  im

    dawesy I added some conditional formatting to the last three columns. By the way, I moved the points out of column W. Otherwise CF will be a complete mess when you try to format both score and points. See if this works for you.

    Hi it appears to work thank you could you tell me is it a formula or conditioning formatting which ever could you send me how you work it out if that is possible as i would like to do the same in columns L and V if that can be done easily i am not sure how to set the formatting up
