Freeze panes

Copper Contributor

Hi there,

I am using Excel for Mac Version 16.68 via a Microsoft 365 Subscription through my work. I was trying to freeze panes (columns and rows) in a spreadsheet and I noticed that I am no longer given the option - only to freeze top row, and freeze first column. Has the freeze panes option been removed for some reason? It was so handy!

Thank you

I'm also on a Mac, Excel version 16.70, same 365 Subscription

I see the ability to freeze panes. That icon in the tool bar (image below) shows only the top row and left most column, but that's just an icon. If you put your cursor in cell C6, for example, before clicking that tool bar icon, it freezes the rows above and columns to the left...... just as it always has.

Hi @mathetes

Thank you for your response.

Strangely, I definitely don't have that icon. I will have to do some more investigating to try and find out why..

Ah! I figured it out! Apparently I had a frozen pane somewhere in the spreadsheet that I didn't know about. Clicking 'Unfreeze Panes' has given me the option to 'Freeze Panes' again!
Hi Mathetes, This had been so frustrating for me as well. Thank you!
