Format excel cells

When I try to format cells to select negative numbers, I can only see -numbers and not the (numbers) for selection. How can I change this?

    Hi Bruce4243 

     

    Select the range you like to format then press CTRL+ 1 > Number > Number and select negative number as you like to display
