as an example I have a starting balance in B2
I have a sum of money in at e16
and a sum of money out at i23
I am trying to add money in to starting balance
and subtract the money out from this
and then update the starting balance with new total so that the new balance will be the starting balance
when saved

- Hi,
You can not put the balance and the total in the same cell, that will make infinite loop.
The balance should be in a deferent cell in order for that to work.
