Excel Vary color by point

Copper Contributor

I have Microsoft 365 and no option for vary point by color when I got into fill within format data series. All of the online videos show it in fill. I am trying to create bar graphs where every data point is a different color. I don’t think conditional formatting would work because I just need to set it to any random color not based on a value. The change color options with color schemes only sets it to one color not multiple. I know I can do it manually but I have to make about 30 charts so it would be very time consuming to do one at a time.

Which platform are you using? In the desktop version of Excel for Windows, you should find it under Fill & Line > Fill.

@HansVogelaar That is where I looked for the vary colors by point option. All of the other choices are there except vary colors by point. I am using the desktop version and I have Microsoft 365.

Could you attach a small sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?

@HansVogelaar this isn’t something I am able to do. Are there any other options?

You could send me a private message (click on my user avatar) and attach a copy of the workbook.

If that is not possible either, I don't know how to assist you further.
