If Excel don’t opens in normal mode and consistently opens in safe mode, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

1. Check for Add-ins: Sometimes, incompatible or problematic add-ins can cause Excel to start in safe mode. Try disabling all add-ins and then re-enable them one by one to identify the problematic one:

    • Open Excel in safe mode.
    • Go to the "File" tab and select "Options."
    • In the Excel Options dialog box, select "Add-Ins" from the left sidebar.
    • At the bottom of the window, next to "Manage," make sure "Excel Add-ins" is selected and click on the "Go" button.
    • Uncheck all add-ins and click "OK" to close the dialog box.
    • Close Excel and reopen it normally to see if the issue persists. If Excel opens normally, re-enable the add-ins one by one until you identify the problematic one.

2. Update Excel and Windows: Ensure that both Excel and Windows are up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, outdated software can cause compatibility issues leading to Excel opening in safe mode.

3. Repair Office Installation: Try repairing your Office installation to fix any corrupted files or settings that might be causing Excel to open in safe mode:

    • Close all Office applications.
    • Go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features."
    • Right-click on "Microsoft Office" (or "Microsoft 365") and select "Change."
    • Choose "Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions to repair the installation.

4. Check for Corrupted Files: Sometimes, corrupted Excel files can cause Excel to open in safe mode. Try opening different Excel files to see if the issue occurs with all files or just specific ones. If it's specific files, try opening them on another computer to determine if the issue is with the files themselves.

5. Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration: Disabling hardware graphics acceleration in Excel settings can sometimes resolve startup issues:

    • Open Excel in safe mode.
    • Go to the "File" tab and select "Options."
    • In the Excel Options dialog box, select "Advanced" from the left sidebar.
    • Scroll down to the "Display" section and check the box next to "Disable hardware graphics acceleration."
    • Click "OK" to apply the changes and restart Excel normally.

6. Check for Third-Party Software Interference: Some third-party software or antivirus programs can interfere with Excel's normal operation. Try temporarily disabling any third-party software or antivirus programs and see if Excel opens normally.

7. Create a New User Profile: If the issue persists, try creating a new user profile on your computer and see if Excel opens normally under the new profile. This can help determine if the issue is related to your user profile. The text was created with the help of AI.

Try these steps one by one to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of Excel opening in safe mode.
