Put the macro in a module and let it run through that.
If the macro has an error, then it should appear.
Also recommend deactivating all add-ins in advance and letting the macro run again.

Is it also possible that you are working in other programs while the macro is running?
If you happen to do some typing while pressing the Shift key while the code is calling the Open statement, you are essentially putting VBA into design mode and further execution in VBA will stop.
