Excel formula to count number of alternations from any value to a specific value

Question

Hello guys,&nbsp;I need a formula that counts the number of times a specific value starts appearing in a row.In the below pic I need a formula that will count how many times SL started to appear, that is for Jorge 3 times, and for Michael 1 time.I am not looking into counting the # cells with SL, but how many times I have an alternation from any value to SL.Is that possible?Thanks for your help.&nbsp;&nbsp;

AneliaM&nbsp;Perhaps like in the attached example? See the formula in H. Adjust the ranges to your particular situation&nbsp;
