Excel Display being truncated in cell

I am typing in a cell and the text exceeds the width of the cell, normally the text would just overlap into the next cell as long as there is no text in the cell. However, I have check the adjunction cell and there it is blank, empty. The Display is truncated, I know that I can widen the cell to accommodate the text, but until I widen it, it should just be display in the adjunction cell. What option is preventing from happening.

Thanks

  • Sorry for the duplication: Detlef_Lewin 's previous post didn't show up until after I posted mine.

jwongsf You probably activated "Show Formulas" in the Formulas ribbon.

Deactivate it and it will result in this:

you are getting the same display that I am seeing, in the Past if you exceed the with of the cell it would display the rest of the text into the next cell unless the cell was not blank. But it is not display this currently and I am wonder what option is prevent this from being displayed

      Thanks
