Hi

I have a project planner with formulas. Is there a way to display the return value instead of the formula when the sheet is protected.

I think in some cases it will be better for the user to read the cell in the formula/text bar rather then the cell.

I can’t past the value as I need the formula so the cells will update next month.

Thank you

No, that is not possible. You can hide formulas from the formula bar though:

  • Select the cells with formulas.
  • Press Ctrl+1 to activate the Format Cells dialog.
  • Activate the Protection tab.
  • Tick the Hidden check box.
  • Click OK.
  • Protect the sheet.
  • When the user selects a cell with a formula, the formula bar will be empty.
