Decreasing the font size of sheet tabs

Is there any way to do this through excel, and not through windows? I saw an explanation on how to do it through a google search and it said to do it through the windows operating system and that it would affect the font size of all other applications which I don't want. I should note that info was from 2010 so hoping Excel has improved its functionality in 12 years. Thanks for any help you can give me.
