Cross multiplication with variable input across cells
Hi, I am looking for a formula that can help me cross multiply across cells.
For example, I have a food product with known nutritional values (eg, energy, protein, carbohydrates etc) I would like to input one nutritional value and get the resulting values of the product.
See attached excel for example.
For the excel, I would like to enter 6 of protein for the apple and get the resulting grams, energy, carbohydrates etc.
I put your question to the Bing chatbot:
To change the range of an Excel table, you can use the Resize command. Here’s how:
- Click anywhere in the table, and the Table Tools option will appear.
- Click Design > Resize Table.
- Select the entire range of cells you want your table to include, starting with the upper-leftmost cell1.
You can also convert a table to a range by clicking anywhere in the table and then going to Table Tools > Design on the Ribbon. In the Tools group, click Convert to Range2. Is there anything else you would like to know? 😊

This is what I propose: You will retain your initial 'gold standard' composition. The orange cells are your input cells and the grey cells are you output. In this case it uses proportions of the totals from the input and original composition to estimate the output.Let me know if this works for you.
- OkenAnalyticsBrass ContributorAre you saying you'd like to change, for example, the value or protein and see how that affects other values?
