Creating Slicers in Excel 2020 for Mac
I have created a small pivot table in the Excel for Mac 2020 version and would like to add slicers. Unfortunately the slicer button is greyed out no matter what cell I select within the pivot table. How do I turn this option on?

JLCantor Could replicate the situation if I saved the file as .xls (i.e. old Excel file type). The fie will open in 'compatibility mode' but the slicer buttons are greyed out.
Save your workbook as type "Excel Workbook (.xlsx)". Close and re-open. Then the slicer buttons should work.

To use the Slicer in Mac, you've got to select your data and click on Slicer from the contextual ribbon tab.
