Contain text within two or more columns

How do you contain text within a number of columns without using wrap text? Please see attached.

  • If so, please do the same previous steps but instead of Shrink to fit, use Wrap Text.

You can spread the long text across multiple columns by using Merge & Center.

There is another way that gives you the same result and discards the use of Merge & Center and problems that may occur because of it!

    It's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUaoyNulS5I.

You can replace Merge & Center with it in the previous steps, as well as using Wrap Text.

    Brian,

You can use Merge & Center and Shrink to fit.

    To do that:

    • Select the range F2:I2, not whole columns F:I, and then press Merge & Center button.
    • After that, press Ctrl+1 to open the Format Cells dialog box.
    • From the alignment tab, find the Shrink to fit checkbox and check it, then hit OK.

The problem with this is that the text will be too small and unreadable!

I don't know why you don't want to use Wrap Text?

Thanks. Yes, that's too small to read. When I wrap the text it wraps it within the first column, ie F2 & not spread out evenly over F2-I2
