Connecting data in multiple Excel Files Vs. Connecting data in multiple sheets in the same file

I have one excel file with many tabs, and all of them are related to each other with many equations.

The file got very slow and hang a lot.

 

Do you recommend to take the data from the different sheets to other files and then connect these files together. Will this make it faster and more efficient?

If all the sheet tabs in your Excel workbook are related and they have the same structure, the best practice is to combine all the sheet tabs together into a single sheet..

For example, you have Jan to Dec sheets that contains sales records. All you need to do is combine all the Jan to Dec data into a single sheet and create another column in the single summary sheet where you will have all the months of Jan to Dec bases on the corresponding data for each month.
