Combine columns

Hello! I'm trying to combine two different columns filled with data, but I want to delete the two columns after I combine them into one. I have one column with information and another right next to it, but I don't know how to combine the information in to one column. I tried using a formula, but since I want to delete the data that I'm combining and only have the combined data in one column I can't. I'm not sure what to do. I tried merging the cells but that doesn't work either.

    Step 1: create formulas in a third column that combines the data from the two columns.

    Step 2: select the third column, copy it, then click the lower half of the Paste button and select Values.

    Step 3: you can now delete the first two columns.
