Cannot change column headers from numbers to letters
The only help I could find referencing this said to start with:
On the Excel menu, click Preferences.
Only problem is, I can't find either the Excel Menu (unless they mean the whole ribbon bar), nor can I find Preferences anywhere. Help!!

It looks like you read quite old instruction.
Click File and here Options at very bottom. Your setting is in Formulas tab, Working with formulas section.

SergeiBaklanHello Sergio. That wasn't the point. I translated into English from the Portuguese version of office 2019 and translated poorly. My apologies. It seems that it is better to change my office to English so as not to run the risk of translating wrongly.

Mcmartz you mean columns or rows? You can change by going to Excel options then formulas and then mark or unmark the ‘reference style’ checkbox under the ‘working with formulas’ option.
