How do I get a running total box at the TOP of a column for the entire year such as the second example.
You don't really give enough information for anybody to give a reliable answer. We'd need, for example, to know where and how (or even if) you store dates of the transactions involved.
As a general response, I will point you to the SUMIF function which is probably the method of choice here, to dynamically work--as new transactions are added in an Excel table of transactions. If that doesn't work for you, may I suggest that instead of images you put a copy of the actual (or a reasonable facsimile) spreadsheet on OneDrive or GoogleDrive and paste a link here that grants access, so one of us can demonstrate it with your actual data.
