Alt+Enter to insert a line in a cell

I have just downloaded Office 21 and cannot get the Alt+Enter to insert a line in a cell.  I've tried deleting any spaces after the first line of text but nothing works.  All it does when I Alt+Enter is take me to the cell below where I want to inset.  Any work-around for this issue?

  • Hi,
    Can you try the following
    1. Check there is no macro running when the workbook is open, there might be a code that may be holding to perform that action
    2. Use another key from the keyboard & perform the action.
    3. Activate the virtual keyboard (onscreen keyboard), if this work onscreen keyboard then you have might a hardware issue.
    4. Try replacing the keyboard.
