Event details
Get answers to your questions about adopting Windows 11 and managing the Windows devices used by remote, onsite, and hybrid workers across your organization. Get tips on keeping devices up to date effectively! Learn how to cloud attach your on-premises workloads!
Windows Office Hours is our continuing series of live Q&A for IT professionals here on Tech Community.
How does it work?
We will have a broad group of product experts, servicing experts, and engineers representing Windows, Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, Windows 365, Windows Autopilot, security, public sector, FastTrack, and more. They will be standing by here -- in chat -- to provide guidance, discuss strategies and tactics, and, of course, answer any specific questions you may have.
Post your questions in the Comments early and throughout the one-hour event.
Note: This is a chat-based event. There is no video or live meeting component. Questions and answers will appear in the Comments section below. |
- Keith-365Brass ContributorRound of applause for WinLAPS. Works seamlessly across our tenant, win10+11. Straightforward implementation and access to credentials via Intune is VERY useful.
- JaySimmonsMicrosoftThank you - much appreciated!
- JaySimmonsMicrosoftI should add, we're not done yet - more features coming. Stay tuned!

We're getting caffeinated and ready to answer your questions from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time this morning. Post your questions in the Comments and we'll do our best to help!
- reastman1966Copper ContributorI asked this last month but is there something that could be blocking the Microsoft Store for the Private Store? Nothing has changed on our GPO's that would block it. The error we are seeing is "Microsoft Store is blocked. Check with your IT or system administrator." Code 0x800704ec
- Jason_SandysMicrosoftWithout knowing which Store GPOs you have configured, I don't think much can be said. To my knowledge, no nothing has changed specific to how the Store app itself acts although the tab/shelf for the "Private Store" was removed back in May so if you are using the "Restrict to Private Store Only" policy, the end result changed since this policy is about "blocking" the public tab/shelf/experience in the Store app and without the private tab being available at all anymore, this effectively blocks then entire Store app. Also not that there are no policies to block the "private Store" and there never have been. There have only ever been policies to block or disable the public/consumer experience.

Perhaps some of the information in this article might help? Add Microsoft Store apps to Microsoft Intune
- Daniel_BargeCopper ContributorIn Intune, we get this error: "Failed to retrieve content information. (0x87D30065)" for some applications. The only thing I have found regarding this error is a connectivity issue, but I don't believe that's the only reason to receive this error. We have verified connectivity multiple times. Is there any more information on this error code?
- Heather_PoulsenCommunity Manager
Hi Daniel - Have you looked at troubleshooting tips for Intune app installation issues? Microsoft MVP Annop Nair also has some troubleshooting tips that might help.
- Daniel_BargeCopper ContributorYes, I've looked at both of those articles but there is not much information on this specific error. I guess there just isn't much on this from Microsoft either (or anyone else). I figured I would at least take a shot to see if anyone knew more about this error. Thanks.

Welcome to this month’s Windows Office Hours! We'll be here for the next hour answering your questions, so please post away in the Comments section.
- PBeiler1Steel ContributorCan Windows365 Cloud PCs be used for a Privileged Access Workstation?
- Christian_MontoyaMicrosoft
PBeiler1 - Our only official guidance for deploying a secure access workstation is here (link to documentation). With that being said, Windows 365 is an easier way to deploy a Windows machine in the cloud already assigned to the user.
If you'd like specific guidance for using Windows 365 Cloud PCs as a Secure Access Workstation, please submit feedback at https://aka.ms/w365feedback.
- Jamie_AnsellBrass ContributorIs there any timeframe on unattended mode for Remote Help being released? Also any recommendations on how to fulfil MFA during logon on shared devices - Windows Hello isn't suitable.
- ThomasTrombleyMicrosoftGood morning/afternoon/evening Jamie. I am reaching out to a PM to find an answer for you!
- ThomasTrombleyMicrosoftThis just in: Unattended mode for Android Remote Help is live. The team is actively working on unattended sessions for Windows Remote Help. We don't have a timeline and ETA we can share at the moment.
- Jamie_AnsellBrass ContributorThanks for the update Thomas, it's Windows I'm interested in.
- ColreynoCopper ContributorFor Azure Dynamic Groups, are there any plans on bringing back the Organizational Unit property back as a viable option? Currently we can still select it in the Azure portal but I've been told by other Microsoft employees that it no longer works. We are trying to find the best way to dynamically add device groups that will stay current to Azure Admin Units as well as use similar type groups to keep Intune device management separate among a few different teams. Dynamically updaing groups via OU would make this infinitely easier.
- Heather_PoulsenCommunity ManagerThanks for joining us, Cory. Working on recommendations for this.
- Jason_SandysMicrosoftHi Cory. This is a great question and I've looked at this myself previously as I certainly concur with the possible value. For a variety of reasons though, this is not something that is planned on being reversed (to my knowledge). There is an active workstream though to improve grouping and targeting as a whole though and provide better, more flexible, granular, and responsive constructs to Intune. There are no timelines to share on this other than sometime in the "near" future. To fill the gap for the time being, the best way (IMO) to approach these types of targeting challenges is to use the Graph API and scripts to leverage the information that is currently captured elsewhere (in your on-prem AD in your scenario) to populate AAD/Entra ID groups. I fully acknowledge there's some overhead in this and it is additional effort on your part, but once set up and running, will achieve your goals here (at least in the interim).

Windows Office Hours is now closed. Be sure to add next month's event to your calendar. And thanks to our experts "in the office" today: Jay Simmons, Christian Montoya, Thomas Trombley, Kara Wang, Jason Sandys, Joe Lurie, and Steve Thomas.
- sindrewCopper ContributorIs it possible to say something about when Autopatch will be available for A licenses?
- ThomasTrombleyMicrosoftHello Sindre. I checked in with our Autopatch team, and currently there is nothing to share. We're looking into expanding Autopatch to EDU customers (A3+) and will share information once available.
