Windows Office Hours is our continuing series of live Q&A for IT professionals here on Tech Community.
How does it work?
We will have a broad group of product experts, servicing experts, and engineers representing Windows, Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, Windows 365, Windows Autopilot, security, public sector, FastTrack, and more. They will be standing by here -- in chat -- to provide guidance, discuss strategies and tactics, and, of course, answer any specific questions you may have.
Post your questions in the Comments early and throughout the one-hour event.
Note: This is a chat-based event. There is no video or live meeting component. Questions and answers will appear in the Comments section below. |

- KevinAngleCopper ContributorSyncing Intune with the Devices We have started to use Intune and it seems we are having a hard time when we change policies, if a policy has been set and we change it, it seems we have to delete the user and relog on before it takes effect, we have waited 2 to 3 days for it to sync and forces sync, and it has not worked for us any suggestions?

In Windows 10, 11 group policy, etc, to turn off selective Suggested Notifications All Users system, we need a way to control the notifications via group policy, can be annoying when you see a banner popup of some new game, or suggested advertisement banner.
- BillyBCopper ContributorI work at a school, and we have the E5 license. The user community finds the advertising and "news" influences in Windows, and Edge annoying. What can I do to remove them from our platform? They are installed per user, and if I remove them, they sometimes come back with the next update.

- BillyBCopper ContributorThanks Heather 🙂
- Laser235Copper ContributorWill there be a ADMX template update for Windows 11 23H2?
- AriaUpdated
Microsoft
Yep, it was actually published when Windows 11 version 23H2 was released 🙂 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=105667
- Rich_OlsonCopper ContributorWe had machines that somehow got onto a version of Windows 11 Insider Preview - we have tried everything to get those out of Insider Preview Channel and back into the General Update channel - anyone have any way to make this happen?
- nlmitchellBrass ContributorThe only ones we have on insider preview are users that have registered to be on that programme and devices that are purposely targeted with an Intune Update Ring policy setting the 'Windows Insider - Release Preview' as the the Servicing Channel. We did however have some devices automatically upgrade to Win11 23H2 when they weren't meant to 😞
- Rich_OlsonCopper ContributorTo give more information - as we are learning Intune Policies - we did have the channel set, for the Intune Update, to Windows 11 Insider Preview, it was there for the longest time and then once we adjusted the time the machines could update all of sudden they got into the Preview Channel. There has to be a way to get those machines out of the Preview Channel into the General Channel - We have tried everything and the only options we see is to reset the machine. Microsoft help!!!!
- Rich_OlsonCopper ContributorNew Outlook - Attachments - why do we have to download them to OneDrive, then View in OneDrive, then I am able to open the attachments. Old Outlook - I can just view attachment or preview it. Example - voicemail attachment - Old Outlook - could just click on it and listen - now in new Outlook - I have to download to OneDrive, then open it OneDrive to even listen to it
- ChrisAtMafSteel ContributorWe've been experiencing issues when adding network printers to Windows 10/11 with these circumstances: 1, SNMP status is enabled and the community string is set to "public" and the printer is OFFLINE (turned off) 2. SNMP status is enabled and the community string is set to a custom community string (anything other than public) and the printer is online. This is apparently a long-standing 'known issue' - any plans to resolve? https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/094569df-f460-496a-9ed7-d30fddb343f4/print-server-on-windows-2016-slow-printer-mapping-when-printer-is-offline?forum=winserverprint#f0beb3fb-3cff-4c9a-9c20-9028694bd2e8-isAnswer
- Rob_WillisCopper ContributorI am looking into the feature update from Intune from W10 to W11. My devices are on a W10 business license. Will this work or does the upgrade only work on pro and enterprise editions?
- AriaUpdated
Microsoft
Windows 10 business license is a special version of Pro I believe. This means you should be able to leverage the update policies to move from Win 10 to Win 11. 🙂
- Jeff PollockOccasional ReaderHow can I force a device that failed autopatch enrollment to try again.
- AriaUpdated

Hey Jeff, any chance you've tried the remediation steps listed out here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-intune/windows-autopatch-enrollment-error/m-p/3945265 ?- Jeff PollockOccasional ReaderI haven't but will give this a look over. Thanks!
