- Laser235Copper ContributorAs Windows Updates keeps improving to work better, more efficient with newer OSs like Windows 10 21H2 or Windows 11, will this eventually affect older unsupported versions of Windows 10 or Windows 7 from receiving Windows Updates ?
- Jason_Leznek
Microsoft
Thank you for the question! The newer versions would be able to take advantage of the updating innovations; older versions would continue to be updated as usual throughout their support lifecycles. If a device is running an out-of-service version of Windows 10 or 7 (or any version for that matter) tit would not receive any updates.
- GovGeekCopper ContributorAny news/plans on the Group Policy Analytics in Intune? As a Org that's beholden to STIG/CIS benchmarks, it would be great to easily import and template those settings without a lot of manual effort.

Great point. We're continuing to evolve our policy and baseline story in MEM. Please add this request to user voice for Intune.
- Christian ZenzanoCopper ContributorIf Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel until October 14, 2025 , Assuming new features are available. What is the add value proposition for organization to move to Windows 11 in the near future if all devices meet current hardware requirement? What is the add value proposition to stay on Windows 10?

Windows 11 is the next evolution of Windows; it is the most significant update to the Windows operating system since Windows 10. It offers many innovations focused on enhancing end-user productivity in a fresh experience that is flexible and fluid. Windows 11 is designed to support today's hybrid work environment, and intended to be the most reliable, secure, connected, and performant Windows operating system ever. Windows 11 is built on the same foundation as Windows 10, so the investments you have made in tools for update and device management are carried forward. Windows 11 also sustains the application compatibility promise made with Windows 10, supplemented by programs like App Assure. For Microsoft 365 customers seeking further assistance, FastTrack will continue to be available to support your efforts to adopt Windows 11.- Christian ZenzanoCopper ContributorIf i understood todays session correctly, The Windows 11 ADMX files will also work with Window 10. As the plan is to continue to support Windows 10 until October 2025 via Semi Annual channel, the assumption can be made that Windows 10 will also have new security features in the future. Will Microsoft be maintaining a site that tracks parity differences between the two operating systems?

Check out this link for all the great stuff Scott talked about: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/welcome-to-the-windows-365-tech-community/ba-p/2545426 - SMSBnBCopper ContributorCan you deploy a specific Active Hours (8PM-8AM) via Configuration Profile to override the configured WUFB's Win10 update rings > Automatic update behavior > Auto install and restart at maintenance time (9AM-5PM)? If yes, do all Configuration Profiles override Win10 Update Rings Policies?
- SMSBnBCopper ContributorYes the use case is similar to what JasonS stated, we are trying to manage a subset of users with inheritance rules bc we don't want to run into the administrative nightmare of excluding them from the enterprise Win10 Update Ring Policy. DavidG - you are correct, you receive a deployment conflict error when these CSP come down. The questions really stems from SCCM Maintenance Windows and also how Intune manages multiple policies on a single machine.
- George_NelsonFormer EmployeeOne thing you could think about is allowing the update to go through and then specifying a deadline for Auto restart which should meet your needs based upon the description. All the settings are here. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-restart
- Christian ZenzanoCopper ContributorThe big question for my organization is, How long will Windows 10 be available. Microsoft life cycle page for Windows 10 states "Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel until October 14, 2025." https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-home-and-pro#:~:text=Releases%20%20%20%20Version%20%20%20,%20%2012%2F08%2F2020%20%207%20more%20rows%20 This leads me to think that there is a possibility of 8 more releases of Windows 10, (21h2, 22H1, 22H2, 23h1, 23H2, 24H1, 24H2, 25H1) Can you confirm that 25H1 will be the last version of Windows 10? However the language is "at least one Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel" so its theoretical that MS stops Windows 10 at 2xHx and continues to support security updates until 2025. When will we know that Windows 10 will stop getting feature updates.

Microsoft
Christian - thank you for your question. Microsoft will absolutely honor the Windows 10 lifecycle, which means at least one version will be supported till Oct 2025. We do not have information to share on the specific upcoming releases of Windows 10 beyond 21H2. However, you can be sure that your Win 10 devices will be protected till Oct 2025.- Christian ZenzanoCopper ContributorJust to clarify, By Semi-Annual Channel we are referring to one of two feature updates that was released for that given year. This Semi-Annual Channel support is different from the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) that has a 2-3 year support cycle. Is this correct ?
- GovGeekCopper ContributorI'm chasing you guys around the internet, LOL. Quality Updates, Feature Updates, annnnnnnnnd Windows Feature Experience Pack? Can we talk about the latter, please?
- GovGeekCopper ContributorAwesome, thanks!

Hi! Can you please clarify your question?

- Laser235Copper ContributorWhen updating to Windows 11 how do we stop the dynamic apps from installing or appearing on the new start menu , ( pinned apps ) list Xbox, solitaire, spotify, , twitter, instagram, news. This very frustrating when those apps were previously removed from the Windows 10 machine.
- GovGeekCopper ContributorI don't know if this helps, but we use this in our deployments and it might take you down the path you're seeking. https://www.deploymentresearch.com/fixing-why-sysprep-fails-in-windows-10-due-to-windows-store-updates/
