This year I missed a topic around reporting or better even alerting and I couldn't resist addressing it ;).
Automatic alerting/reporting to Intune Admins periodically could help those "lazy" admins to take actions on Non-Compliant devices, Policy Conflicts, Failed Enrollments, Failed Updates, etc.
Of course we can automate this ourselves, but in my opinion this should be part of basic Intune functionality.
- RobdeRoosIron ContributorI've seen the very promising AI session. Can't wait for that!

Thanks for participating in today's Windows + Intune Office Hours LIVE at Technical Takeoff! For reference, the panel covered this topic at around 22:50.
- Josh HammondCopper ContributorIs there a future for the Intune "Scripts" section? Will we ever get an update to this feature to include Exclusion groups and Filtering? Or is POV to move these to Remediation scripts?
- jvanhornCopper ContributorThis week has been awesome! Thank you again for putting it on! Are there future plans for certifications for Intune Management and Architects, I feel that the scope of Intune covers endpoints start to finish, from applications to security and onboarding experience for an organization. I'd love to see something similar to what some would consider an MCSE level for Intune or gold partner sought after certifications.

Love that Run remediation (preview) is listed under actions for Windows devices. Is there plans to have 'terminal' or 'Command Prompt' also listed in actions so system administrators can run commands remotely if the device is active?

In the live event, Deepika Wadhwa said she loves the idea and will take it back to the team to consider and prioritize! - Char_CheesmanBronze Contributor

- RobdeRoosIron ContributorWould it be interesting to also get M365 Apps Updates, in a same update ring way, as the WUfB updates in Intune? Or is that a different story update wise. (not that into Office updates ๐ )
- SkipToTheEndpointBrass ContributorYou can achieve that currently by going to config.office.com and configuring Cloud Update to deploy via waves ๐
- Amarjeet5Iron ContributorWhy can't I make custom setting catalog baselines? With current Intune console we can import/export setting catalogs natively within the console. We like the Security baselines however, we need granular control on our baselines. Reporting in the setting catalogs vs MDM Security Baselines is not as good.

- BenStreet92Copper ContributorCould it be that the Surface for Business line and the Windows Pro or Enterprise SKUs should not include the additional apps that comes with Windows nowadays? There are many ways for us to fix this ourselves, but we should not have to do this ourselves. Removing the pre-installed Office and other apps takes a lot of time in the Autopilot process. Cleaner image = lower attack vector and happier customers. We're huge fans of the improvements to Windows 11 and the Surface line, other than that! ๐

This is common feedback that is more or less as old as Windows 10 itself -- it's something was even "frustrated" about before my time as an FTE at Microsoft. Unfortunately, the path to addressing this is much more than just a technical one. That's an answer you as customer may not want to hear and certainly isn't satisfying at all, but it's true and the only answer we have. We've been calling this out to leadership many years but there are many leaders and decision makers involved and bringing them all to consensus on this is much easier said than done. Again, I fully acknowledge that this should be easy to address, but please understand that it's much more than just a technical problem.
- Anthony_DotenCopper ContributorDo you know if there are any plans for bringing Defender for Endpoint to GCC G3 similar to how Defender for Endpoint is included in E3?

Welcome to Windows + Intune Office Hours LIVE at Technical Takeoff, the last session of Microsoft Technical Takeoff for Windows + Intune! Have a question? Post here in the Comments so we can help.
- Jay MichaudIron ContributorWould you please build new features into the base Intune product? We pay Microsoft a lot of money for the top-level M365 enterprise offering, but we keep bumping into features that require the use of an Azure subscription (more money based on consumption), and a significant portion of the content this week was about Intune Suite (more money based on user count). Where is the increasing value over time that we were supposed to get by paying for Intune by the month? It's a good product, but we can't just keep paying more and more.

In the live response, Ciaran Murphy highlighted new value coming in Application Management. Joe encouraged checking out https://aka.ms/IntuneNew - that's updated weekly! - jabbrwckyBrass ContributorIโd echo that sentiment. Itโs particularly disheartening where legacy solutions work better than newer ones that cost more. A good example is on-premise network auth for Entra-joined devices. Cloud PKI is an expensive alternative to hybrid with NPS and itโs not even a complete solution.
