Event details
Join us for a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) live video stream across four Microsoft content collaboration products: SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream! Our product teams will be answering your questions about future roadmap and recent innovation – and offering insights on what to expect in the coming months.
Each team will present five minutes of content to catch you up on the highlights, and to spark what questions you might ask, and then have 10-15 minutes to take your questions. Post your questions at any time – starting your question with the product name to help us navigate it to the right experts; example: “SharePoint: How will Copilot help me create pages and news in the future?”
This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from recent Microsoft 365 Conference (May 2-4, 2023) disclosures: Review Jeff Teper’s May 2nd (5/2) blog post.

- rayk_slandCopper ContributorSimple question. when assigning delegates that can schedule resources in exchange online, why may we not assign groups to the resource? We have a lot of resources which are scheduled in this way. Every time someone joins or leaves the team that handles that, they have to be manually added to or removed from each resource, which is really time consuming.
- Leon_RicCopper ContributorMS Teams: Could you please modify the behavior of meetings within a team's channel so that they do not automatically invite all team members? Meeting within a channel is such a great concept, but we instruct every user not to do it as even though you specify names in an invite, every member of the team receives an invite. It is OK for them to have access to video recording, chat and even be able to add the invite to their calendar if they would like to join. We have multidisciplinary teams and every time we tried to use channel meeting within a subgroup, it created confusion and list time. Thus, we rely on meetings outside teams, with associated chats lost in the Chat tab.

Hi Fredrick! This event was only about SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream. I would suggest posting your questions in the Teams discussion space - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/bd-p/MicrosoftTeams - atrain204Iron ContributorI think you're in the wrong AMA 😉
- Francis LaurinBrass Contributor*SharePoint: PDF editing is the biggest roadblock to modern interface (Teams and SharePoint in the bowser) user adoption in my experience (tens of clients). Why doesn't Microsoft facilitate to open PDF directly in the desktop app like it does for Word/Excel/PowerPoint. (And "Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft 365" or OneDrive Sync are absolutely not there yet BTW). *SharePoint: why are SPFx extensions not rendered in Teams Files Tab? My users are consuming SP Doc Libs from Teams now, and it does not make sense to extend SharePoint if not rendered in Teams as well. Said differently, Teams Files Tab should simply integrally render the complete SP experience instead of a partial mimic. *Lists: when will the LVT of 5000 items finally get lifted? It is still causing real pain on the field and there is no place for such a thing in a "modern" tool competing with other cloud solutions.
- LjolsenCopper ContributorI second this question around the threshold. This causes alot of problems when wanting to move a large list or document. At this moment we have to use pnp ps to run in batches which can take several hours to days to move.

For a long time I've been trying to figure out why you cannot do a look-up from site A to site B. Instead of a diverse and organized site collection with hubs and sub-sites like MS advocates you do, this forces you to put everything into one site. There are a number of threads related to this topic that have never really been answered, here is one:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/57439/display-list-from-another-site-collection
As an example, when making invoices, it would be great to have a look-up column to a master product list. Problem is, if the master product list resides on an operations site instead of the accounting site, you cannot do this! Very frustrating that the only solutions to this seem to involve complex work-arounds, but I've done enough work with some of the custom work-arounds to know it is possible and MS could make this work.

I fully agree with you.
Mark Cashman in another post asking the same question, said "You would need to use Power Automate to lookup and take action across lists, across sites: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/security/connect-data-sources " - sumeetsinghal5688Brass ContributorThis is where Microsoft's partners comes in, look for a 3rd party solutions to solve similar issues.
- Inger_ChristensenBrass ContributorLists: When will it be possible to assign something on a list as a task and have it appear in tasks / To do list?
- Mark-KashmanFormer EmployeeWe don't have timing to provide. The teams are reviewing some of the backend updates to the M365 task service - to make it easier for partner team to integrate. I've passed along this as feedback and appreciate you sharing your own insights. Thanks for your feedback and time in joining the AMA. - Mark
- Jane-AndersonCopper ContributorSTREAM MIGRATION QUESTION: Hi guys, I wont be able to attend the event but I do have a question regarding the reporting PowerShell which provides a list of all videos in Stream. The first time we ran it, it worked perfectly and then subsequent times, I'm getting forbidden errors showing in the logs - I am a Stream Admin. Raised with Microsoft Support, but other than the usual checks, as far as I know, nothing was changed. Went to run the report again and on the off-chance it worked perfectly again. Tried to run it again, and back to forbidden errors - any ideas? And would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this issue.
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
Sorry not sure why that's happening. Feel free to push support to raise the ticket up to the Stream migration team in the product group. In addition you can join our public office hours were we have the migration engineering team join, but I'm guessing they'd need more details through a support case. - Hemant2004Copper ContributorIn sharepoint: 1) How to know folder size & no of files in all sub folders , 2) Windows server data to sharepoint migration , any better tool?
- sumeetsinghal5688Brass ContributorTotally depends upon which SharePoint you talking about Online or On-Premise, considering the former, there are multiple options as shown in the link below. https://www.sharepointdiary.com/2018/06/sharepoint-online-get-folder-size-using-powershell.html If you looking for On-Premise let me know.
- David_SwensonIron ContributorLooking forward to the session. One question I would like to answer (that comes up all the time in the extension of SharePoint into Power Platform) is: when will SharePoint/Microsoft Lists delegation limit be natively expanded beyond 2,000 list items? I understand that Dataverse is the next natural step when dealing with large datasets, but we feel that at this stage in the game - Microsoft Lists should natively support (at least) a 5,000 limit for delegation. This would enable us to provide Power Apps driven services to more customers and "transition them" to Dataverse as their operations continue to scale within Microsoft 365. Unfortunately, the 2.000 current limit has made it difficult.
- Mark-KashmanFormer EmployeeUnderstood, David. We don't have a firm solution to go beyond this particular limit in plans as of yet. I'll take this to our Lists engineering team as a consideration - to map closer to what possible in lists before requiring another solution within bounds of what is reasonable to do on Lists natively. Thanks for your feedback and time in joining the AMA. - Mark
- Sharyn_MayneIron ContributorQuestion for Stream: Does the future of Stream include more detailed video editing? It would be useful to be able to draw boxes or arrows around parts of the screen, and include Title and End "slides".
- Marc Mroz
Microsoft
You can do some basic things like this in the camera itself when doing web and screen recording from https://stream.office.com We are working on bringing full video editing to M365 enterprise with Clipchamp this year. Stay tuned for announcements. We also have a basic "annotations" feature we are thinking of for Stream itself where you can add simple hotlinks, callouts, and MS Forms quizzes. This is not on the public roadmap yet but under development. When we get further where we are confident in a date will add this to the roadmap.
- Sharyn_MayneIron ContributorHi Team. I am very interested in the results of this session but as it will start at 2.30am on a workday (Australia) I will not be there. Will we be able to watch it later ? If so, where would we find it? Thanks
- Mark-KashmanFormer EmployeeYes. The session was recorded and is now on-demand and playable on this same page above when you have a moment - with all questions asked/answer on the page below in the comments section: https://aka.ms/TCL/ODSP23. It is also here on YouTube if you want to watch it there: https://www.youtube.com/live/X0O_7LEPkA0. - Mark
- David_SwensonIron ContributorWould be great to integrate Clipchamp into Stream as a business editor linked to our work accounts.
