Event details
We are very excited to announce a SharePoint Server Subscription Edition AMA!
An AMA is a live text-based online event similar to a “YamJam” on Yammer or an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with Microsoft product experts who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.
Feel free to post your questions about SharePoint Server Subscription Edition anytime in the comments below beforehand, if it fits your schedule or time zone better, though questions will not be answered until the live hour.

Hi Prakash, no worry, we will go through every question and response to them one by one. It just needs some time to reply to so many questions. Thanks Steve
- jmThiaCopper ContributorA dream... it will be so powerful to express authZ with relational logic. For example not in a group, in groupA and groupB.

Hi Jean, Thank you for bringing this request to us. From my understanding, relational logic is sometime very risky if the expression is not well defined. Would you please help telling about why you need such feature and how you expect it can work in which scenario? It would be good to learn more about detail and evaluate carefully. Thanks Steve- jmThiaCopper ContributorHi Steve, You are right and also pretty complex to implement. When dealing with user object, it could be handled with a new group resulting from the math of the expression. And i just can not imagine how it could be done with claim object which is considered a group object and dynamically assigned by the claim provider. example 1 : a real request i had today - all members of a site can access a library but not rookies. Rookies are allowed after 6 months. Ok this can simply be done with pnpPoSh calculating the result group. But I be as simple as a rookie group and authZ expression : members goup and not rookie group. example 2 : all members above 18 can access a web could be express as members group and over18 claim. Well this looks like sub groups, but the is no subGroup in SP. It is so challenging to implement that makes it a dream. I hope that I sparked some interest as I think this will make authZ in SharePoint readable, comprehensive and auditable. You are welcome for any question or more examples Regards, Jean Marie

There was a new auth method added (OIDC and a new UPA claims provider) OpenID Connect 1.0 authentication https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/security-for-sharepoint-server/oidc-1-0-authentication Enhanced People Picker for modern authentication https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/enhanced-people-picker-for-trusted-authentication-method
- KS1311Copper ContributorWhen opening SharePoint tenancy for internet users is there any way to clean all pre-existing external sharing links for whole SharePoint tenancy? or any check list to perform before opening SharePoint to public
- Aria_ConsultingCopper ContributorUsing SP for unauthenticated internet users isn't supported past SP 2013. MS started down the path of having SP as an internet site CMS, but then abandoned it.
- Prakash UttamCopper ContributorIn SPO, when there's a failure in MIM to sync between AAD & SPO, Admins and even Microsoft Level-2 support cannot troubleshoot it. This has prevented us from creating new M365 groups and use them for SPO since January.
- Aria_ConsultingCopper ContributorSync what exactly?

Microsoft
Hi Prakash, Would you mind opening a support ticket to us with more detail information? It would be helpful for us to find the right person for your question.
- Prakash UttamCopper ContributorSPO Document Libraries are basically taking over from Network Drives. However there's no link users can follow to see all SPO sites they have access to. e.g. when a user clicks on SharePoint under office.com, the list of My Sites only shows Frequent and Followed, not ALL.
- Aria_ConsultingCopper ContributorMicrosoft posted a message about this a while back in the message center. They decided that this is a more desirable UX. As that is wholly under the control of MS, not much to be done about it.
- ChadHaeberleCopper ContributorSame question, I'd also like to be able to check what sites a user has access to across the whole tenant, rather than having to check permissions on individual sites.
- cgeisslerCopper ContributorHave you checked out Delve? It allows me to search Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint online libraries.
- giaprinciCopper ContributorHow can I extract data usage of the various documents from a Sharepoint site? From the "Site use" menu I can only see the last 90 days: can I get the data relating to previous periods?
- Aria_ConsultingCopper ContributorI believe you can access the data using PowerBI.

Hi everyone,
We're happy to announce the first set of new post-RTM features for SPSE. They're on track to be released by the end of this year, but keep in mind that these plans may change in the future for a variety of reasons.
- Unified patch package: Starting in SharePoint 2016, we consolidated many separate monthly patch packages into 2: the "core" patch and the MUI/language patch. That's how our monthly patches have been delivered ever since, including for SharePoint 2019 and SPSE. But we heard your feedback that it's confusing to always have to install 2 separate patch packages each month, and even more confusing when we only update one patch package but not the other. So to solve that confusion, we're going to start releasing our monthly SPSE patches as a single patch package instead of 2 separate patch packages. You'll only have to install that one patch package each month to know that SPSE is fully patched.
- Feature release rings: We know that some customers value getting new features as soon as they're ready while other customers want more time to validate feature changes to make sure there are no compatibility issues. We're going to introduce feature release rings which will let the customer control how soon new SPSE features from Microsoft will be enabled in their farms.
- If customers opt into the Early release, then new feature experiences will be enabled in their farm as soon they're ready. These new feature experiences are supported for production use, but they may change based on customer feedback before they're available in the Standard release.
- The Standard release is the default. New feature experiences are enabled in Standard release as soon as they're ready for all customers to enjoy by default and have finished going through additional validation in Early release.
- Modern Lists and DocLibs: Based on customers' feedback, we're making several improvements to the modern document library and list experience. This is just a start - we'll continue to improve the list and document library experiences over time to meet the needs of our customers.
- “Copy” and “Move” enhancements: You'll be able to move a document to another document library in the same site or copy a document to another document library in another site, site collection, or web application.
- Column formatting enhancements: We're improving column formatting functionality by adding support for Excel-style expressions. You can use the same expression from SharePoint Online to customize the layout of your on-premises lists and document libraries.
- Bulk editing: You'll be able to multi-select list items and edit their properties at once through the editing pane in our modern UX.
- Better SuiteNav customization: You'll have more control over the color of Suite Navigation bar in modern themes.
- Newer Office UI Fabric: We're updating the Office UI Fabric from version 5.79.1 to the newest version in the 5.x series. Aside from bug fixes and new controls, this version upgrade allow us to start implementing highly requested features in modern list views such as "Totals in list view."
Thanks
Steve
- David_CummingsCopper ContributorI think many are looking forward to Bulk editing, I know i am for sure.
- VicassomxCopper ContributorWhen creating an extranet, how many external users am I allowed to have?

Since our company is in Mexico, we have many clients with Spanish SharePoint sites.
Why, when we invoke the delete command from a document library, the same question is displayed twice? (this only happens when the site is in Spanish)- Steve Zhang
