named environments - when please?
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeYou should be seeing named environment tasks in new Planner in the 1st half of next year Mateusz.
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeI should add that for things this far out it is still subject to change - the ability to open plans from non-default environments in Planner Teams app is in our backlog and expressing your interest in this helps us prioritize it.
- KTitusBrass ContributorWill only be able to make it for the first 30 minutes or so then have a conflict so won't make it for Q&A. Agree with many, many of the comments here. My top things I'd like to hear about are syncing with project Professional, the ability to schedule "as late as possible", @mentions with notifications.

How do I instruct Copilot+ to limit the actions to the selected tasks instead of all tasks in Premium Plan? It works for 1 tasks or all tasks. Ideally something like " set all tasks and subtasks for the selected issue/task to the bucket "In progress".
- Brian-SmithFormer EmployeeGive us feedback with the thumbs up/down when we aren't giving you what you need in Copilot Louis - and also via feedback in Planner - this sounds like a useful option. I'll check if there are any special ways to prompt to get this working.
- stefangillichCopper ContributorIt seems that if I create a Premium plan and link it to a Teams Team, I can not add this plan into a channel of this team. If I add the planner app to a channel, the Premium plan is not listed as a plan already existing for this group. When I however create a basic plan, i can do this. Is this feature not available? Will this be available in the future? Can people without a Premium license work in my Premium plan if I share it with them directly? If not right now, will this be possible in near future?
- stefangillichCopper ContributorUpdate: Found the following youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhTwhN7m6Lw As much as I understand this video somebody with project license should be able to create premium plan in planner (works for me). It is also possible to share with group. But non of the group members without project license can access premium plan. According to the youtube video (around 3:00) I had expected every group member being able to access the premium plan having at least some basic (limited) functionality. But without project license I'm not even able to access created premium plan. Is there any special process I have to follow to access premium plan without project license?
- CourtBodaIron ContributorTeam members without Project Licenses should be able to access the grid view and some features of the tasks - for example, they can change the percentages and mark complete but probably not be able to change the deadlines. They should be able to see this in a Teams Tab or if they have the Teams Planner app installed. One thing our IT had to do was to turn on the ability for our employees to view Project within teams throughout our M365 workspace, so perhaps that is where the issue is? Prior to them turning it on employees just would not be able to see the additional tabs in Teams.
- MartynHalliwellCopper ContributorI would love to see a personal view of Planner for my own tasks! To Do is great as are the many other tools within 365 but being able to plan my tasks using Planner would be fantastic!
- David_HopkinsFormer EmployeeThanks for the feedback Martyn! Could you tell me more about what you would like to use a personal view for? Today, all your assigned Planner, Project, and To Do tasks, as well as your Private tasks list and flagged email tasks are available in My Tasks in the new Planner, so I encourage you to try that out too.
- CourtBodaIron ContributorYes, please add a board view for personal tasks through the 'Planner My Tasks' in Teams.

@Dylan Do you know if the planner event tomorrow September 17th will be recorded and distributed, so that people interested will be able to access the content even though they are located in different time zones and thus, cannot attend?
- Laura_Becker
Microsoft
Yes, you will be able to watch the recording! Thank you.

It is great to hear you are opening the gates for feedback!
I have investigated planner as a task management tool for our org, and I have some significant limitations identified that I think if addressed could improve your product significantly:
1- Create a "Supervisor view" screen: Your vision on a single place where all "my tasks" are visible is great. Now is time to go beyond and use the MS environment to list all the tasks of a supervisor subordinates, whenever they are (limited to plans, not e-mails). This will give supervisors a great way to balance work, check for updates on critical items and distribute work as required.2 - Extend API integration for premium plans: There is a use case to connect other applications as PowerApps to planner and create/update tasks using the Graph API, however this is limited to basic plans. This fact limits the integration scope as some solutions need functionalities as custom fields.
3 - Improve custom fields functionality: A list of improvements that would be good to see...
a) Missing a user picker option as a custom filed type, so not able to create a field with "Requested by" or "Help chain" and attribute its value to a person from the organisation.
b) In the Task view, not able to hide unused fields that are not used (selected hidden in Teams or Project view) could be hidden from the task view too.
c) In the Task view, not able to reorder custom fields. It would be better to bring custom fields up in the task view, since they are more important than standard fields.
d)Standard Columns - Created Date and Created By are fields that are already generated but not exposed to the users. It would be better to have an option to read them in the UX
e) Standard Columns - Status field is not available on the UX, why? Is Bucket the best name for it?
I appreciate you listening the users. I hope this is useful and addressed, so I can continue to advocate planner in my org.
- Shwu_LinCopper ContributorWill this session be recorded / available for playback? I'm based in Australia, so the live session is at 2am Melbourne time...
- Laura_Becker
Microsoft
Yes! We need all of our other time zones to watch. Of course - please watch the recording! - Andrea2023Brass ContributorSame! We're in Auckland, so 4am for us unfortunately
- WayneSmallOccasional ReaderAgreed - I too am from Australia and want to see this but not at 2am Sydney time..
- AdamBarkerCopper ContributorI understand that Planner Premium is essentially the old Project for the Web. However, there's a lot of things you can do with Power Automate and Planner basic. Could you share an update on when Power Automate capabilities will be brought to Planner Premium. Additionally, I would be thrilled to have the manual date tracking of Planner basic integrated into Planner Premium as the existing automated date changing is a struggle to deal with.
- BenO_AUCopper ContributorThat is a great shout! There is definitely a correlation between these applications they just don't seem to be all that well joined/documented. I mean you can go and find people on youtube connecting these dots but it should be part of the entire Microsoft suit of products. Adam Barker great idea
- Coal972Copper ContributorIn ref to the GNATT chart view in the web environment how does it "reschedule uncompleted work to start after the status date"?
