- In yesterday's session, it was stated that if you saw the new logo, you had the new Planner. In Planner in Teams, I saw the new logo in Posts. Yet when I went to Tasks, none of the new features were there. I presume that means I do not have the new Planner?

How to know if you have the new Planner

Since we will be rolling this out in waves over the next few weeks, the way to know if you have gotten the new Microsoft Planner in Teams is to check the updated name and icon in top-left corner of the app.This is what you will see if the new Microsoft Planner has been rolled out to you:

- At what point does a project or task become a "plan" on a planner?
- Hi Sholom - can you clarify what you mean by "project" in this context? If you share your repro steps I can better help answer. In the new Planner you can create new plans or premium plans, the latter are technically "projects" if you are familiar with Project for the web. Tasks created outside of plans (e.g. in Private Tasks) can be moved into plans.
- Will 'Project for the web' still be able to be embedded into PowerApps? Will developers need to update their PowerApps? Will it feature the same functionality as Planner? Currently 'Project for the web' is a slightly lighter version when its embedded in a PowerApp.
- AlexanderLahuertaYes, we will continue to support managing premium plans (Project for the web) within the Power Platform. We haven't made changes for how you can integrate these types of plans.
- What is plan to show tasks from named project for web environment in my tasks/ my day?
- Project tasks for the default org will start to show up in My Tasks in the coming weeks. Support for Named orgs is on our radar so stay tuned.
- What are the differences between the Planner Basic/Premium and what associated licenses for project plans do you need for the premium?
- Hi Wyatt - here are the premium license plans: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/project/compare-microsoft-project-management-software. Premium Planner will have features like scheduling, advanced reporting, etc.
- We are new subscribers to Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Is this new change going to be available in the Planner already in our existing plan? Or do we need to subscribe to an additional app? If so, which one? And how do we access? And when will it be available for Business Premium accounts?
- Is there a desktop app available?
- Not for the new Planner, but "Project Online desktop client" can be acquired through Planner premium licensing. It does not interoperate with the new Planner, however.
- Will there be a recycle bin in the new Planner?
- Or much better, versioning. Recycle Bin would be a bare minimum for serious use.
- Where do I find a friendly table comparing MS Project Online x New Planner Premium (features, use cases, etc) so I can help my end users to decide between the apps?
- Will there be Power Automate integration available for Project for the Web once it is integrated with Planner?
