- CiaraCoulesCopper ContributorMy school primarily uses iPads, therefore Teams mobile. What does setting up Viva Connections for a primarily mobile userbase entail, especially in the context of education?
- MichaelHolste
Microsoft
Hey Ciara, installing the mobile experience is very similar to installing Viva Connections in general. Search for Viva Connections in the Teams App Store, and enable and then customize it to fit your organization's branding, colors, and icon. Once the app is added, your organization’s icon will appear in the Teams app bar in the desktop and mobile Microsoft Teams experience. You'll also need to enable the dashboard to start building custom cards. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to enable Viva Connections mobile end-to-end. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/choose-settings-for-the-viva-connections-mobile-app-61bc93fe-5d58-4b4c-a0b1-abdd484ccf46 - CiaraCoulesCopper ContributorThank you for your reply. I'm quite excited to get the ball rolling with Viva Connections, as you might be able to tell, and reminders for the likes of homework would absolutely help with adoption within my school.
- What content is surfaced in the Viva Communications Feed web part? Is it News from followed SharePoint Sites, Posts in Favorited Communities in Yammer and followed channels in Stream?
- MichaelHolste
Microsoft
Currently, the feed includes the following content: SharePoint - News posts on the home site - News posts on org news sites - News posts to sites you frequent or follow Yammer - Posts to the All-Company community - Featured Posts to public communities - Communities you follow Stream - Video news links on org news sites - Videos embedded in news posts Check out step 5 in this overview for more details> https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/guide-to-setting-up-viva-connections
- Sascha_PortzCopper ContributorAbout Connections: I'll found in the documentation, that also posts from teams will be displayed in the feed/the feed webpart? In other documentations team post are not mentioned. Could you clearify if posts from team will be displayed?

- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorAbout Topics, the demo environment: The topic card does not seem to work (when I follow the demo script). This instance of the demo was created 30 August. And I cannot create a new instance. What am I doing wrong?
- cjtan
Microsoft
I'm not sure what could be happening here. Could you share if you see any errors or have had any issues with licensing or setup? Do you mean you cannot create a new demo instance?- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorAbout the card: on https://m365x336944.sharepoint.com/sites/operations/SitePages/Expanding-the-Digital-Services-Initiative.aspx nothing happens when I click on the active 'Digital Service Initiative' in the page title Cj . (this was in Chrome). About the new demo instance: because that existing instance is not behaving as I expected, I tried to create a new instance on https://cdx.transform.microsoft.com/my-tenants. Ha, now I see Microsoft Viva in the list of tenant options! Maybe it just got stuck... (hey, I can't @-mention you @tan or Cj)?
- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorAbout Topics, the demo environment: Should the Contoso demo with content pack M365 Enterprise 2019 with Viva/Syntex be fully functional and allow you to add topics? Or is it just a manually created, scripted demo?
- cjtan
Microsoft
Yes, the demo tenant includes content and activity that will demonstrate the AI capabilities for automatically identifying topics. There will be a set of topics that are identified initially, then you can also manually add topics.
- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorAbout Topics: Can we connect make sure we have "one version of the truth" in the topics, instead of having different topics for different spelling variations? Maybe by connecting the set of topics to the taxonomy / term store? And would that then also work in Yammer, or will Yammer still allow all these typo versions of the topics?
- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorThank you for your live reply! It is what I hoped 🙂
- Frédérique HarmszeBrass ContributorAbout Learning: Will we need a paid license to link to our customized Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways? We have custom playlists, and some custom assets. And we have hidden the learnings that we do not want to promote yet. I heard that, at this time, only the standard playlists are available in Learning. And that our custom version may become available some time next year? But then the question is: when it does, would it be a paid connection...
- EBlackburn1000Brass ContributorI'm very curious about the answer to this question, as our Organization has also built custom content (site pages) and playlists for Learning Pathways that we would ideally like to maintain and make available for all through Learning
- RussAshmanCopper ContributorViva Learning & LinkedIn - Feature request / product suggestion A) Can we get feature so as to Role Based Permission LinkedIn Learning as a content source so that is shows to only those users who have been granted an LI Learning enterprise license? Reason - we have many more teams users then those that have been granted Enterprise learning licenses. B) Can we get an option to show only the free LinkedIn learning content that does not required an enterprise license? Reason - same as above, but would love to serve up the free content LI learning makes available. Thank you
- EBlackburn1000Brass ContributorFor Learning: Is a paid account required for end-users to receive recommendations from a paid user? Are we going to be able to customize content such as course descriptions and images?
- John_Mighell
Microsoft
A paid account is required to make a recommendation, but it is not required to receive a recommendation. Course description and images can be customized on the platform where they are hosted. For LMS hosted content, you can update those details via your LMS. For SharePoint hosted content, you can update those details from the SharePoint library where the items are stored.- Sascha_PortzCopper Contributor
John_Mighell is there a documentation about creating columns for describtion, imags etc. for SharePoint Online as well as information to start indexing new learning content from sharepoint?
