Event details

You’ve got app deployment down, but what happens next? That’s where things can get messy. In this episode of Unpacking Endpoint Management, we dig into what it really takes to run a smart, scalable app strategy in Intune. From lifecycle planning to tool selection and real-world tradeoffs, we move past “how-to” and into “what works.”

Bring your questions, your opinions, and your challenges. Post them ahead of time or join the discussion live. We’ll tackle the tradeoffs, engage in honest debates, share what’s working (and what’s not), and help you build a smarter approach to app management at scale.

Will EAM app installers that install in the system context automatically remove existing user-context installs for the app?

In SCCM it's very easy to establish collections based off installed/uninstalled applications, app versions, and plenty of other queries. Is there any way to dynamically scope deployments of apps and scripts to machines similar to how SCCM could scope collections? Creating dynamic machine groups in Intune appears to be extremely limited. We don't want every single app deployment to be evaluated on every single system unnecessarily if there's a good way to reign in the scope of each deployment.

Dependent Applications in Intune cannot be uninstalled whether the parent application is installed or not on the device. It is a pain if we want to make an application available both as a standalone and also tied it to a dependency.

      Thanks for reading my Question.

      Here is an example.

App B tied as a dependency to App A in Intune.

App B is installed as a standalone app on a device which does not need App A. The device only has the option to reinstall App B. Once we remove the Dependency in Intune, the uninstall option shows up.
