Currently, "In Channel" meetings do not have durable copilot artifacts available after the meeting. Is this a bug, or will this be added?
- GabeHoFormer EmployeeHey Christopher, could you elaborate on what you're looking for? Do you mean Copilot not being able to reference your channel meeting content after it ends?
- Chris_SpiveyCopper ContributorI do not have the ability to use copilot against the in-channel meeting that I scheduled, once the meeting ends and I leave.
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
Does it happen even if the meeting was recorded?- Chris_SpiveyCopper ContributorYes. I scheduled an "in Channel" meeting, was able to interact with copilot during the meeting, once I left the meeting, all I could see is the link to the recording which had no recap capabilities. It acted much like Copilot for an organizer when it is set to allow copilot w/o transcription where there were no post-meeting durable artifacts beyond the recording.
- Chris_SpiveyCopper ContributorIn Meeting Options, Meetings can be set to “automatically record”. Is there a plan to add “automatically transcribe” as an option?
- GabeHoFormer EmployeeHey Christopher, thank you for the feedback, I don't think there's anything announced on this specifically, but we'll bring this back to the teams. Just to add too, auto-recording does mean that transcription is on as well.
- Chris_SpiveyCopper Contributor
Yes, understood. There is greater sensitivity tied to recording. Recording brings all notification and anti-wiretapping rules into place where a transcription where a recording is not retained does not. Operationally, a person has to remember to turn on transcription in the meeting to have copilot generate durable post-meeting artifacts. It reduces the likelihood that I can have copilot catch me up on what I missed if I were to join late or miss the meeting completely. It would be a valuable pre-meeting setting to have available.
- Scott BoothCopper ContributorIs there a way to have Copilot results/responses not be limited to 3-4? In some cases, I want to see a longer list or summarization without having to prompt it to provide more. Even when we say in the prompt "don't filter or limit the results", it still does.
- GabeHoFormer EmployeeAppreciate the feedback, I'll take that back with the team! There's a number of reasons and nuances to how Copilot may present the result. If you're dissatisfied with a prompt response, please use the thumbs button to also provide that feedback.
- Fernando MeloBrass ContributorHow often does Co-Pilot refresh its results? Specifically in o365?
- ScottSchnollFormer EmployeeCan you elaborate on your question? Generally, once Copilot provides a response, it won't be updated. You could of course get an updated response if you asked Copilot the same question but provided newer grounding data for it to reference.
- Fernando MeloBrass ContributorIf co-pilot uses the data in o365 to formulate answers, and you upload more data to the tenant, how does Co-pilot know when new data was upload and how often does it refresh its knowledge?
- Jim FallonBrass Contributor
I have found Co-Pilot free version to be my new way of learning on just about everything I have ever struggled with on Microsoft's products. I have been using Excel like I have never used it before simply because I can ask my computer questions while it sits on the side speaking answers back to me. I have now signed up for the Pro Version and was a little distressed they had no instructions on "enabling" it in Office, I had to go search the web because not even Co-Pilot was ready to tell me to update the license in Word to make it happen, that was not told to me in an email or anywhere actually. ANYWAY
The problem is it no longer speaks answers back to me, I now have to wait until it is done with the sometimes-lengthy answer, and the tap a button to "hear" it speak back. The future will bring real time conversation with the AI, and this was a close second. But this new way of having it speak back is quite cumbersome compared to having it simply begin speaking the answer. Although I myself am not disabled, I would have thought this feature would be a great thing for those that are.
The QUESTION IS: Will they be bringing this feature back? It was VERY helpful to continue what I was working on while the AI started speaking immediately after I verbally spoke my question with the microphone button. Now, having to wait while, then hit a button every time I want to hear it speak. It is a giant step back in my productivity. I can live with it, but why do we have to, what was the logic behind this decision?
- GabeHoFormer Employee
Hey Jim! Sorry for the delayed response, and thank you for the feedback! I recommend reaching out to our specific helpdesk on the issue. You can do that here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Accessibility/disability-answer-desk?activetab=contact-pivot%3aprimaryr8
- Hughes818Iron ContributorTrying to better understand "Bing Chat Enterprise" versus "Bing Chat (Non-Enterprise)". So, if an end user does a copy/paste of sensitive information into that Edge Copilot chat: -If "Bing Chat Enterprise" is enabled, Microsoft does not keep any history of that and the LLM does not learn from it. -If "Bing Chat Enterprise" is NOT enabled, Edge defaults the user to using the Non-Enterprise edition..and in that case, that sensitive information IS shared with Microsoft and the LLM IS learning from it. Do I understand that correctly? If not, can you please clarify? Thanks.
- Hughes818Iron ContributorIs the "Copilot" service that can be enabled/disabled within the M365 E3 license...does that only control "Bing Chat Enterprise" features? It's a bit confusing.
- ScottSchnollFormer EmployeeYes, the Copilot for Microsoft 365 license includes several services, and you can select which one(s) you want to provide to your users. By default, all services are selected, but an admin can choose during licensing what to deploy.
- Hughes818Iron ContributorThanks Scott...but there is only one "Copilot" service listed under the E3 license. So, I assume that is NOT the "Copilot for M365" license since that "Copilot for M365" is an add-on. I thought I read somewhere in the past that that "Copilot" service under E3 was previously named "Bing Chat for Enterprise"...but I can't seem to find that reference any longer. So, I'm trying to confirm if "Copilot" under the E3 is just referring to the Bing Chat Enterprise. We might disable that but we're trying to understand what Copilot service is actually controlling...I don't see a reference for that anywhere.

I'm not able to insert a prompt in Word, like in some available video demos, to "make the document look like "/link to another document". How to do that in Word with Copilot 365? Thanks
- ScottSchnollFormer EmployeeAre you trying to do this in the Word web app or the desktop version?
- danielepalCopper ContributorI've tested it both in web app and in the desktop version. Not able to link a document in the prompt.
- IsabelCotrinaOccasional ReaderIn the case of an organization, where data loss prevention policies have been deployed with a third party tool (not using Microsoft Purview functionalities), how does Microsoft 365 Copilot behave with those limits?
- GabeHoFormer EmployeeHey Isabel, that depends on what the 3P DLP does. A third party DLP can act upon the copilot results, like scanning for sensitive content on email or blocking content pasted rom copilot to chats.
